Brian's most recent series of paintings are lyrical abstractions with
still lifes, figures, animals and birds. His autobiographical subjects
are transformed into a whimsical cubist style influenced by 20th
century Modernist pioneers like Pablo Picasso, Paul Klee, and Joan
Miro.
Brian believes that Modernism is a richer tradition than
Post-Modernism. He also believes in the continuing relevance and
importance of oil painting as a medium of artistic expression.
